TITLE: Business Development Manager

As JAY’s Business Development Manager, you will have a senior position responsible for developing a growth strategy and soliciting new clients in a range of targeted industries. You will be responsible for all key new business functions: prospecting, relationship development, lead generation/qualification, and presentation/pitch development. JAY is committed to providing you with the budget and tools needed to get the job done.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and Lead Presentations for New Business Proposals
- Creative Writing and Communications to New Business Prospects
- Partner with JAY’s New Business Committee on growth strategy and plan
- Follow through with all presentations, including follow-up letters, proposals, etc.
- Identify, cultivate, and close new business opportunities
- Research, target and refine prospects
- Manage new business pipeline process from prospect to pitch to close
- Communicate pricing, develop proposals, and negotiate terms and conditions
- Manage the transition of sold business to Account Executives
- Advise in the audit and onboarding of business intelligence and CRM tools
Performance Metrics
- Total net new revenue
- Outreach volume and effectiveness
- Lead conversion rate
Qualifications
- 5 – 10 years of business development experience is a must, Marketing and Communication agency experience is a plus
- Strong marketing fundamentals experience with broad agency knowledge
- Experience in developing marketing communications plans and brand strategy
- Well-developed leadership
- Microsoft Office/Office 365 including full suite knowledge
- Impeccable internal and external verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable representing agency including high-level presentation skills
- Account management experience a plus
- Travel may be required for prospecting and pitching
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
